CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Amanda J. Brott is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis and Therapy. Amanda began work at Hope as a Behavior Analyst in the summer of 2005. In this role, Amanda worked with children on overcoming problematic behavior as well as teaching them more appropriate alternative behaviors. In her tenure at Hope, Amanda has held several positions. These diverse roles within the organization have provided her the opportunity to immerse herself in all aspects of Hope; ensuring that we continue to provide leading edge care to the children we serve. She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Hope. Prior to joining Hope, Ms. Brott served from 2002-2004 as director of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale’s Touch of Nature Environmental Center Camp Little Giant which provides educational and recreational opportunities for community members, including adults and children with developmental disabilities. She analyzed behaviors at The Columbus Organization in Memphis, TN, from 2004-2005 before working as adjunct professor at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL. Since 2005, she has also served as a private consultant to help families care for children diagnosed with autism. Amanda is a published author with numerous papers in Behavioral Interventions and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. Amanda regularly presents lectures to families, school districts, and professionals on teaching strategies, basic behavioral strategies, function of behavior, and characteristics of autism.Ms. Brott is responsible for overseeing daily operations in our Academy Programs. These include the Residential Academy, Learning Academy, Vocational Academy, and all clinical/supporting services including medical, behavioral health, quality assurance, health information, case management, and recreation. She is committed to ensuring youth and staff safety through increased collaboration among Hope staff members from multiple departments. With a strong commitment to professional development, Ms. Brott understands that the programming is only as good as the employee providing the program. To that end, Amanda is dedicated to encouraging employees to become leaders themselves by offering support and magnifying their strengths. She is known for her unique humor and empathic nature, which results in her quickly forming close bonds with employees, students, and their families. She lives in Springfield and enjoys spending time with her young children Sam and Matilda.
