Hope is more like a family, the staff goes over and beyond for the students and families. They offer extended help. And it has impacted my son greatly. I don’t know where we would be without the support from Hope!

Our Story

After more than three years of discussion and planning between Chicago Public Schools and Hope, the Hope Learning Academy Chicago (HLAC) opened its doors to students on September 7,  2009. While the majority of students are typical learners, 25% of students have a developmental disability, with the majority of those diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). HLAC offers families an exceptional public education in an environment that values, celebrates, challenges and supports student in order to reach their optimal level of success. Students with special needs are responsibly included alongside their siblings and peers. Hope Learning Academy Chicago is a place where all learners are accepted and valued.

The mission of the Hope Learning Academy Chicago is to create a learning environment that supports students to achieve optimally, regardless of socioeconomic background, learning style, or disability.
