College Basketball Team Partners to Assist Hope
The Lincoln Land Community College men’s basketball team found a colorful way to surprise a group of Hope students.
The Loggers repainted the walls at the Grant campus housing unit in different shades of yellow, light blue and burgundy on Friday, Sept. 5, to give the rooms a more welcoming atmosphere for the male residents. When the Hope students returned home from school and a field trip, they were greeted with the new vibrant walls.
“Our basketball team is always looking for ways to volunteer,” said Skylar Tierney, assistant men’s basketball coach and Hope Director of Vocational and Educational Development.
Men’s basketball head coach Chad Jones is an Ambassador of Hope, a group of community leaders who work to improve the lives of Hope students.
Members of the basketball team called the daylong project “rewarding.”
Plans are underway to repaint the interior of four other campus housing units. The projects are expected to be completed by the end of October.
